摘要: Effective strategies are needed to provide screening and treatment for hepatitis B C immigrant groups in the UK at high risk of chronic infection. This study aimed build an understanding knowledge, beliefs attitudes towards these conditions their management a range high-risk minority ethnic communities health professionals, order inform design programme primary care. Qualitative data collection consisted three sequential phases- (i) semi-structured interviews with key informants (n = 17), (ii) focus people from Chinese, Pakistani, Roma, Somali, French- English-speaking African 95), (iii) general practitioners 6). Datasets each phase were analysed using Framework method. Key perceived that there was limited knowledge about within communities, viral did not typically feature community discourses serious illness. Many group participants confused differences between types hepatitis, held misconceptions regarding transmission, unaware asymptomatic nature Most welcomed idea programme, but also identified numerous practical barriers engagement care-based treatment; including language communication difficulties, time (due long working hours), (for some) low levels trust confidence practice-based General expressed concerns workload implications sustainability treating patients Strategies reduce burden will need consider how accessing healthcare, may affect capacity engage treatment.
