摘要: Increased interconnection has been highlighted as potentially facilitating the integration of wind generation in power systems by increasing flexibility to balance variable output. This paper utilizes a stochastic unit commitment model simulate impacts increased for island Ireland with large penetrations generation. The results suggest that should reduce average prices Ireland, and variability those prices. simulations also while may carbon dioxide emissions Great Britain would experience an increase emissions, resulting total remaining almost unchanged. studies not excess is because under techniques which incorporate forecasts scheduling decisions, curtailment minimal even low levels interconnection. As be expected improve system adequacy considerably significant reduction number hours when load reserve constraints are met.
