TiAl2: A reentrant phase in the TiAl system

摘要: The domain of stability and the structures TiAl2 phases are studied by conventional high resolution electron microscopy. Like Ti1+xAl3−x LPAPB structures, ordered on a f.c.c. lattice present along cube axis (c axis) long period modulation which is composition and/or conservative antiphase boundaries (APB) modulation. In case phases, fixed such that stacking sequence (001) atomic planes is: TiAl, Al. On this an APB superimposed determines relative positions Ti atoms in successive TiAl planes. It shown latter temperature dependent, according to very particular scheme: first structure TiAl2I stable two different ranges – one at low (T 1250 °C). between, other structure, TiAl2II, stabilized its periodicity twice TiAl2I. Owing striking feature, then reentrant structure. Mittels konventioneller und hochauflosender Elektronenmikroskopie werden der Stabilitatsbereich die Strukturen TiAl2-Phasen untersucht. Wie bei den Ti1+xAl3−x-LPAPB-Strukturen sind einem k.f.z.-Gitter geordnet zeigen Richtung einer kubsichen Achse (c-Achse) eine langperiodische Modulation, Zusammensetzungsmodulation und/oder konservative Antiphasengrenzen(APB)-Modulation darstellt. Im Falle ist Modulation Zusammensetzung fixiert so, das Stapelfolge (001)-Atomebenen: Al ist. Auf dieser APB-Modulation uberlagert, Lage Ti-Atome sukzessiven TiAl-Ebenen bestimmt. Es wird gezeigt, Periode letzteren temperaturabhangig ist, entsprechend sehr speziellen Schema: erste Struktur stabil zwei verschiedenen Temperaturbereichen niedrigen Temperaturen Dazwischen andere Struktur, TiAl2II seine Periodizitat zweimal von Infolge deutlichen Hinweise TiAl2I-Struktur dann reentrante Struktur.
