摘要: Taste receptors (TASRs) and appetite reward (AR) mechanisms influence eating behaviour, which in turn affects food intake risk of obesity. In a previous study, we used next generation sequencing to identify potentially functional mutations TASR AR genes found indications for genetic associations between identified variants growth fat deposition subgroup animals (n = 38) from the UNIK resource pig population. This population was created studying obesity obesity-related diseases. present study validated results our by investigating 24 selected single nucleotide gene 35 phenotypes describing metabolism entire 564). Fifteen showed significant association with specific after Bonferroni correction. Six 15 genes, namely SIM1, FOS, TAS2R4, TAS2R9, MCHR2 LEPR, good correlation known biological function associated phenotype. We verified TASR/AR growth/obesity conclude that combination identification followed targeted genotyping studies is powerful cost-effective approach increasing power studies.
