摘要: Aim Advances in the treatment of rectal cancer have made it possible to perform complex surgery (COMP-RCS) patients with primary advanced penetrating beyond total mesorectal excision planes and locally recurrent cancer. The aim this study was examine health-related quality life (HRQoL) before during first 2 years after COMP-RCS. Method Between 2001 2008, 180 were treated COMP-RCS at Aarhus University Hospital. HRQoL assessed preoperatively 3, 6, 12, 18 24 months using three questionnaires. results compared those for standard (STAN-RCS) data from general Danish population (NORM-data). Results One hundred twenty-two (68%) responded Of these 80 (66%) disease-free survival included main analysis. lowest level functioning highest degree symptoms reported preoperatively. majority scales improved or remained stable postoperative year; a decrease observed body image only. One year surgery, COMP-RSC comparable that STAN-RCS. Lower levels found physical emotional role functioning, NORM-data. Conclusion Patients experienced improvement surgery. similar Compared NORM-data, lower functioning.
