People’s Location Change Adaptation to Flood and Cyclone in Bangladesh

摘要: With the increasing impacts resulted from changing climate, many people in Bangladesh have been forced to move their homes and/or jobs. Unfortunately, little has known about how people’s residence and job location change choice behaviour is affected under of flood cyclone as a result climate change. Such behavioural understanding essential for governments adaptation decision makers, so make better plan policy adapt impacts. As an additional effort existing literature on climate-induced issues, main purposes this paper are investigate look into differences between coastal inland future flooding scenarios. Based orthogonal test survey design, questionnaire data collected 14 cities Bangladesh. A cross nested logit model structure proposed address research work. Results study indicate that more than 80% respondents would like changes houses or jobs, responses statistically different observations. Flood/cyclone intensity, number living years, pervious recover experiences, age, road connection significant factors affecting choice, but depending types disasters locations. Road connections safe places essentially important cyclone. If become serious, followed by location, with less land, successful experiences encouraged places, old households should be protected priority. work add implications adapting especially developing seriously countries.
