摘要: We present enhancements to the TCP-Friendly Rate Control mechanism (TFRC) designed better handle intermittent connectivity occurring in mobility situations. Our aim is quickly adapt new network conditions and support real-time applications for which user-perceived quality depends on immediate transmission rate. propose suspend before disconnections occur, a way inspired by Freeze-TCP, extend solution probing after reconnecting enable full use of newly available capacity. We first introduce numerical model TFRC's performance handover it evaluate potential gains realistic parameters. then describe set additions TFRC achieve these gains. Implementations within Datagram Congestion Protocol (DCCP) ns -2 Linux have been adapted enhancements. Comparisons experimental results original modified DCCP are presented number example scenarios. thus show how proposed modifications faster recovery disconnected periods as well significantly improved adjustments an improvement experience (QoE) video-streaming applications.
