摘要: Individual illness belief systems form a cognitive structure which lies beneath the cultural and social aspect of health care in community. Popular are different from, yet linked to, expert systems. terms often help support stable milieu by linking concepts causes significance types problems with set seeking choices; as well typical physical psychological symptoms associated problems. This study presents an example how beliefs perform these functions urban, mainstream America. One hundred seventeen people biomedically defined hypertension were interviewed following Explanatory Models format. The held 72% this sample was that they had ‘Hyper-Tension,’ characterized excessive nervousness caused untoward stress. data used to derive composite diagram domain ‘Hyper-Tension’ America demonstrates various options have for interpreting their experiences choosing appropriate therapeutic actions.
