摘要: In this second part of our 2-part review, we discuss recent research about pulp tests that determine the vitality tooth and clinically accepted testers. A pain response to hot, cold or an electric tester indicates only a tooth's pulpal sensory supply; does not give any idea state pulp. Although sensitivity these is high, when false-positive false-negative results occur, they may affect treatment tooth. falsely diagnosed as nonvital with undergo unnecessary root canal, whereas one vital be left untreated, causing necrotic tissue destroy supporting tissues (resorption). The vascular supply more important determination health than supply. Pulp death caused by cessation blood flow result in pulp, even though still viable. can healed if circulating healthy. under investigation, diagnostic devices examine flow, such pulse oximeter laser Doppler flowmetry, show promising for assessment vitality.
