摘要: Summary We assessed the risk factors and molecular epidemiology of multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (MDR-AB) in Hong Kong. The patients were treated five hospitals a healthcare region during 2005–2006. performed genomic identification by amplified rRNA gene restriction analysis (ARDRA) investigated existence metallo-β-lactamases clonality representative MDR-AB strains phenotypic methods. Forty-five subjects with compared 135 controls (patients no MDR-AB). In logistic regression, chronic wound (odds ratio: 29.5, 95% confidence interval: 8.1–107.2; P adeB type XII, positivity for bla OxA-23-like OxA-51-like genes high level resistance to carbapenems. Most HKU1 retained susceptibility gentamicin, cotrimoxazole minocycline. By contrast, HKU2 exhibited ST22, II, usually positive only resistant Both clones found have disseminated widely. conclusion, clonal expansion is playing major roles increase these findings highlight need enhance infection control measures.
