摘要: Male seminal substances have been shown to induce oviposition and reduce female longevity in a number of species including the adzuki bean beetle Callosobruchus chinensis. Here micro-injection extracts male reproductive tissues is used determine effect strain on fecundity longevity. Four strains C. chinensis, known differ their propensity remate were assayed. The results indicate that both influence However, consistent patterns response not observed as revealed by significant interaction between strains. evolutionary implications these are discussed.
