摘要: Abstract Vrancea major intermediate-depth earthquakes produced extreme damage in Bucharest city, located at about 165 km epicenter distance. Our purpose is to investigate the influence of local geological conditions upon seismic motion case large ( M >7) earthquakes. Two input data sets are used: (a) geological, geotechnical and geophysical information, including situ measurements, (b) acceleration recordings Local response evaluation based on first dataset confirmed by spectral analysis earthquake records. main features outlined: non-stationarity ground dynamic amplification from one event other inadequacy limiting investigation depth uppermost 30 m evaluate characteristics. Consequently (1) we cannot extrapolate determined for moderate small anticipate effects shocks (2) controlled entire package Quaternary deposits which significantly deeper than beneath Area.
