摘要: It is increasingly common that computers in residential and hotspot scenarios see multiple access points (APs). These APs often provide high speed wireless connectivity but the Internet via independent, relatively low-speed DSL or cable modem links. Ideally, a client would simultaneously use all accessible obtain sum of their backhaul bandwidth. Past work can connect to APs, neither aggregate AP bandwidth nor it maintain concurrent TCPs across them. This paper introduces FatVAP, an 802.11 driver aggregates available at also balances loads. FatVAP has three key features. First, chooses are worth connecting connects with each just long enough collect its Second, ensures fast switching between without losing queued packets, hence only sustain throughput TCP connections APs. Third, works unmodified transparent applications rest network stack. We experiment both our lab hotspots deployments. Our results show that, today's deployments, immediately delivers end user median gain 2.6x, reduces response time by 2.8x.
