摘要: Abstract Purpose To evaluate the potential of primary posterior continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis (PCCC) to prevent after-cataract 2 years after surgery and perform a bilateral comparison intraocular lens (IOL) materials, silicone hydrogel. Setting Department Ophthalmology, University Vienna, Medical School, Austria. Methods In this randomized patient- examiner-masked study, 37 patients (74 eyes) with age-related cataract had small-incision PCCC. Randomly, 1 eye received hydrogel IOL contralateral eye, IOL. Both IOLs open-loop haptics round-edged optic. Standardized digital retroillumination photographs were taken day 1, 6, 12, 24 months development on anterior capsules by subjective grading. Opacification PCCC area was also objectively evaluated using new software. Results Twenty-nine (58 completed 2-year follow-up. Partial closure ongrowth at edge found in 55% group 28% group. Total observed 3 eyes, Conclusion Ongrowth onto dependent material. Because less more fibrotic IOLs, efficacy higher
