摘要: Abstract Data on spatial and temporal activity patterns, restraint, ownership packing were obtained from the dog population in Fort Collins, Colorado, a city of 72 000 residents including 17 college students. Observational data gathered 4 automobile routes which transected different demographic areas. A total 432 h sampling made during 8 months (1979–1980) resulted 3696 observations 1361 dogs. Most (2852) dogs at home, 76% them restrained some way. Approximately 80% showed definite evidence being owned. We believe that most other 20% also owned, since only 7 active avoidance humans. The through more rural areas had larger packs dogs, although 17% unrestrained observed (2–5 individuals). average number per month fluctuated throughout year, with lows May August high July. closely paralleled impounded month; however, neither figure significant change following students leaving Collins for summer vacation. was greatest noon to 13.00 winter months, but occurred late afternoon spring months.
