摘要: Day-night differences in abundance and biomass of demersal zooplankton the water column were determined by trapping these animals as they emerged from sand substrate a kelp forest (Macrocystis pyrifera) ecosystem off Santa Catalina Island, California, USA. The day night sampling periods 24 June 1979 new moon each lasted 12 h. Abundance total significantly higher samples. A mean 2,425±1,168 m-2 h-1 migrated over diel cycle; 97% crustaceans. was 94.2±27.6 mg ash-free dry wt h-1. No significant found either or zooplanktion collected low high traps, suggesting that most 25 cm bottom can sustain swimming to at least 75 both traps give comparable estimates amount available planktivorous predators.
