Municipal solid-waste recycling market and the European 2020 Horizon Strategy: A regional efficiency analysis in Spain

摘要: Abstract This paper focuses on the analysis of efficiency Spanish regions in development recycling market their respective territories through use a novel Data Envelopment Analysis method with multiple outputs. The takes into account mandatory goals reducing mixed-collected municipal solid waste and augmentation selective collection recyclable materials, as set by European Union legal framework. issue is highly relevant, since neither these two management may be achieved without its associated industry having been previously developed to sufficient level. Results confirm that Catalonia, Navarre Madrid function benchmark emulated remaining inefficient regions. necessary regional investments output projections reach an efficient sector are also estimated.
