摘要: Integral field unit spectrographs allow the 2D exploration of kinematics and stellar populations galaxies, although they are generally restricted to small fields-of-view. Using large field-of-view DEIMOS multislit spectrograph on Keck our Stellar Kinematics using Multiple Slits technique, we able extract sky-subtracted light spectra galactocentric radii. Here, present a new mask design named SuperSKiMS that explores spatial scales without sacrificing high sampling. We simulate set observations with such nearby galaxy NGC 1023, measuring metallicities out where surface brightness is orders magnitude fainter than sky. With this technique also reproduce results from literature integral spectroscopy in innermost regions. In particular, use simulated 1023 model its total mass distribution radii, obtaining comparable those published observation. Finally, obtain metallicity distributions show good agreement overlapping do not find significant offset between ATLAS3D velocity dispersion at same locations.
