Deregulation of the Nigerian Telecommunication Sector: Interrogating the Nexus Between Imperialism and Development

摘要: This study investigates the deregulation of Nigerian Telecommunication Sector within precinct Imperialism and development. is premised on fact that Nigeria’s sector has not only been moribund over years but more importantly dominated by foreign local bourgeoisies after its in 1999. In view this, borrows from Structural which argues elites Centre Periphery states connive, indeed conspire to undermine development latter. It relies heavily use secondary data, virtue nature work, thus probing dynamics these Centre/Periphery trajectories. Findings reveal certain levels have recorded particularly terms contribution economy through ubiquitous provision telecommunication lines, especially mobile phones. Similarly, jobs created this GDP profile. However, beneath efforts, predatory materialistic character bourgeoisie, a permanent feature post-colonial state remains greatest bane growth sector. The concludes until “unholy alliance” between demolished, effort federal government will remain mirage.
