摘要: Abstract Objective: To monitor nutritional status and food security in order to identify nutritionally vulnerable groups. Design: Members of five different household groups (urban rural residents, displaced people collective centres private accommodation, elderly living without younger family) all residents two old people9s homes were prospectively followed. Households selected from 20 local communities nine centres. Setting: Monitoring carried out three besieged areas Bosnia-Hercegovina (Sarajevo, Tuzla, Zenica). Subjects: 1739 individuals sampled. Interventions: Data collected every month December 1993 May 1994. Information on was through structured questionnaires. All subjects weighed their heights measured. Weight for age Z scores calculated children; body mass index adults people. Results: From February 199 Conclusions: Elderly are at greater risk undernutrition than other Undernutrition may be precipitated by sickness, cold, stress, problems related preparation. The health welfare during the emergency require special attention, integrated care programmes needed.
