摘要: Circadian rhythms and clock gene expressions are regulated by the suprachiasmatic nucleus in hypothalamus, melatonin is produced pineal gland. Although brain detects light through retinas regulates secretion throughout body, liver has independent circadian as well production. Previous studies indicate association between with various diseases, disruption of or expression may promote steatosis, inflammation, cancer development. It known that strong antioxidant effects. Alcohol drinking excess fatty acid accumulation produces reactive oxygen species oxidative stress leading to injuries. Melatonin administration protects these stress-induced damage improves conditions. Recent have demonstrated not limited effects it other contributing management Accumulating evidence suggests restoring supplementation be promising therapeutic strategies for diseases. This review summarizes recent findings functional roles potentials
