摘要: The role of racial factors in epileptic seizure disorders has been largely neglected the past. This study indicates a highly significant preponderance whites over blacks infantile spasms (West syndrome) and consistent (although not statistically significant) other syndromes such as Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, primary generalized epilepsy, benign rolandic epilepsy. On hand, differences were found patients with temporal frontal lobe Other work indicated that are less photosensitive than whites; special type photosensitivity could be present mongoloid persons. Socioeconomic cannot explain differences. neurobiochemical basis is unclear; investigations on pro-opiomelanocortin may promising this regard.
