摘要: The effects of preservatives on the ciliary beat frequency chicken embryo tracheas are determined, Polar compounds like benzalkonium chloride in commonly used concentrations, decrease less than 30% after a 20 minutes' exposure. effect is not reversible rinsing with Locke-Ringer solution. Lipophilic however, chlorbutol, cause an arrest cilary movement 10 minutes. effect, different from polar compounds, reversible; but only limited exposure-time. Mercuric thiomersal, non-reversibly 30 to 90% EDTA decreases 40 50%, independent exposure-time and way. combination 0.01% 0.05% recommended preserve nasal drops.
