摘要: Numerous studies have examined the effects of burn size and depth, age, concomitant injury, illness upon patient mortality duration stay in hospital, other stressed importance psychosocial factors causation burns. However, scant attention has been given to on length hospital. Data psychiatric diagnoses, substance abuse, severity injury were abstracted from charts patients admitted San Diego Regional Burn Treatment Center. Mortality data analysed using logistic regression. After adjusting for statistically significant increases are associated with diagnosis character or personality disorder, schizophrenia, alcohol intoxication at time a variable indication severe undiagnosed problems. Comments individual suggest that overtly self-destructive behaviour during treatment caused increased mortality. hospital among survivors multiple linear significantly longer stays suicidal intention, senility indicating Overtly behaviour, problems, inability some care themselves may each contribute
