摘要: Quantitative relationships between biological resources and hydrological variables are often needed to fulfill legislative requirements for management of estuaries coastal waters. We used a 28-year record blue crab landings support development minimum flow (defined in Florida Statutes as the point at which further withdrawals freshwater will cause “significant harm” or ecology) Caloosahatchee Estuary Florida, USA. Annual catch per unit effort (CPUE) was computed from monthly crabs measures fishing effort. Both unadjusted de-trended annual CPUE were significantly correlated with rainfall, inflow Multivariate ENSO Index during previous year’s dry season. Increases 1 year next positively related season rainfall first 2 years. The Minimum Flow intended protect an impact taking 2 more years recover. Geometric mean functional regressions Monte Carlo simulations identify associated this level impact. spectral analysis indicated that occurred about once every 6 years. corresponding ranged 8.6 12.3 m3/s (averaged over measured headwater control structure estuary). This study demonstrated relationship hydrologic (rainfall, inflow) usefulness fisheries data providing technical basis developing environmental targets.
