摘要: We studied skin microbiota present in three sites (forearm, axilla, scalp) men from six ethnic groups living New York City. Methods. Samples were obtained at baseline and after four days following use of neutral soap stopping regular hygiene products, including shampoos deodorants. DNA was extracted using the MoBio Power Lyzer kit 16S rRNA gene sequences determined on IIlumina MiSeq platform, QIIME for analysis. Results. Our analysis confirmed swabbing as a useful method sampling different areas because concentrations number across subject libraries similar. that location main factor determining composition bacterial communities. Alpha diversity, expressed species observed, greater arm than scalp or axilla all groups. observed an unexpected increase α-diversity arm, with similar tendency scalp, South Asian group subjects stopped their Significant differences phylum genus levels between origins sites. Conclusions. conclude ethnicity particular shampoo practices are secondary factors compared to ecological zone human body cutaneous composition.
