摘要: The Saronikos Gulf, on which Athens is situated, receives a considerable load of untreated waste discharges from that metropolis. A survey ten sublittoral sites shows marked response by the benthic fauna to pollution. much reduced community diversity, coupled with massive increases certain pollution‐tolerant, suspension feeding species indicates stressed ecosystem in North Gulf. Selective and gross mortalities marine species, states anoxia were previously confined small areas appear be spreading larger more open parts
