摘要: BACKGROUND: The objective of this study was to quantify whether the presence three different neonicotinoid insecticides (imidacloprid, thiamethoxam or clothianidin) in sucrose solution results antifeedant effects individual worker bumblebees (Bombus terrestris), and, if so, effect is reversible bees are subsequently offered untreated feed. RESULTS: Bees exposed imidacloprid displayed a significant dose-dependent reduction consumption at 10 and 100 gL −1 , which reversed when feed offered. No consistent avoidance/antifeedant response nectar substitute with detected more field-realistic dose rates 1 exposure very high rate followed by 100% mortality experimental insects. food intake recorded g clothianidin L reduced noted occurred were . CONCLUSION: This provides evidence direct but highlights that may be compound-specific effect. © 2014 Crown copyright. Pest Management Science Society Chemical Industry
