摘要: Background and objectives Brainstem gliomas are relatively rare tumours of the central nervous system which have varying presentations clinical course. This study aims to analyse profile challenges management these in a resource-limited country. Methiods We retrospectively analysed data from records patients managed for briainstem glioma between January 2010 July 2017. Results There were 11 (7 males 4 females). The median age at diagnosis was 9 years. Eight less than 15 duration symptoms ranged 1 month 2 All had cranial nerve deficits presentation, while 7 cerebellar signs. Hydrocephalus present patients. lesion pontine tectal 2. Three with hydrocephalus ventriculoperitoneal shunt insertion one patient refused surgery. Only radiotherapy. None received chemotherapy. A dishcarged against medical advice. One is still alive after years another other dead mean survival period 6 months. Concclusion Most this series located pons ran aggressive courses. Majority our did not access radiotherapy none
