Monitoring of Poliovirus Strains Circulating in the Environment and Their Intertypic and Intratypic Differentiation by Rflp Analysis of a PCR Product Derived from the 5’ Non-Coding Region

摘要: Efforts to eradicate poliomyelitis encompass not only an appropriate vaccination policy but steps verify the success of eradication campaigns as well. Conventional procedures for monitoring circulation virulent polio strains include isolation enteroviruses from sewage, their differentiation or non-polio strains, and intertypic intratypic differentiation. We have developed a procedure which considerably facilitates this task: after strain has been isolated identified polio, we extract its RNA, reverse transcribe it cDNA, carry out PCR analyze amplified fragment with various restriction enzymes.
