摘要: Passive nets are currently among the most important fishing gears largely used along Mediterranean coasts by small scale fisheries sector. The effort exerted this sector is strongly correlated with net dimensions. Therefore, use of passive worldwide managed defining length and drop. EC Reg. 1967/2006 reports that bottom-set drifting may be also defined considering their weight or volume; however, no practical suggestions for inspectors yet available. Consequently,  even if such technical measures reasonable from a theoretical viewpoint, they hardly suitable as management tool, due to difficulties in harbour control. overall objective paper provide quick methodological approach gross estimation (by type) on basis volume. final goal support managers advice enforcement control purposes. results obtained fisheries. methodology developed study should considered first attempt tackle tangled problem can easily applied other areas order improve precision models herein.
