摘要: • Impedance plethysmography (IPG) and the Doppler ultrasonographic probe were used to assess whether thrombophlebitis, initiated by injection of a sclerosant into superficial varicose veins, extended involve deep veins leg. Sixty-seven legs treated with compression sclerotherapy in 50 patients (26 men, 24 women) whose mean age was 53 years. Indications for this therapy unacceptable appearance (n = 37), pain =13), cramps =11), stasis ulcer 6). Each leg received an average six injections (range, three 11) 0.5 mL sodium tetradecyl sulfate. Blood flow studied immediately before one week two weeks afterward. In each leg, no change either these studies found at following treatment. nine extremities, delayed venous emptying on IPG. This persisted after sclerosis interpreted as evidence previous vein thrombosis. ( Arch Surg 1984;119:1283-1285)
