摘要: Ex-offender managed health care can enhance post-release continuity of by increasing access, decreasing acute-care episodes, controlling the spread communicable diseases, and reducing financial impact on public health-care systems. This study describes transitional for inmates with AIDS, tuberculosis (TB), hepatitis, mental illness, substance abuse. The relationship between size prison system coordination was also investigated. A mail survey completed 33 chief medical officers systems in United States. Transitional programs ex-offenders vary widely no significant found number released per state annually supervised ex-offenders. All respondents reported some type planning, usually either 1 month or 6 months prior to release. included provision medication, referral community agencies, scheduling appointments, instruction prevention transmission. majority that planning coordinated registered nurses. Specific measures HIV/AIDS,TB, abuse were reported. Information about existing help nurses other providers identify trends ensure offenders.
