摘要: Rates of oxygen consumption were measured in eggs, embryos, and neonates, as well adults Daphnia magna with or without their broods. There was no detectable energetic cost carrying a brood, there apparent effect brooding on the respiration eggs 1–2-d-old embryos. The rates early embryos only about third those neonates thus accounted for very little females.
