摘要: Microalgae used in the production of biofuels represents an alternative to fossil fuels. One problem algae for is attacks by algal parasitoids that can cause population crashes when are cultivated outdoor ponds (Greenwell et al. 2010). Integrated solutions being sought mitigate this problem, and initial step pest identification. We isolated parasitoid from open pond Scenedesmus dimorphus biofuel New Mexico examined its morphology, ultrastructure molecular phylogeny. A phylogenetic analysis placed organism Aphelida as conspecific with Amoeboaphelidium protococcarum sensu Karpov 2013. As a result we re-evaluated taxonomy Letcher 2013 here designate it new species, occidentale.
