摘要: The gene encoding subunit 5 of the NADH dehydrogenase complex (ND 5) has been identified in Oenothera mitochondria from a cDNA clone. coding region is interrupted by type II intron 850 nucleotides and second intervening sequence 357 nucleotides. Genomic rearrangement within first creates nontranscribed partial copy gene. intact ND transcribed pattern with mRNAs including S rRNA sequence. Excision two introns appears to proceed slowly vivo since steady state mitochondrial RNA contains significant proportions unprocessed precursor molecules.
