摘要: One of the most widely studied ultimate carcinogens, 7r,8t-dihydroxy-9t,10t-oxy-7,8,9,10-tetrahydrobenzo[a]pyrene (BPDE-I), is fairly stable in organic solvents but hydrolyses rapidly presence water. Routine use BPDE-I stock solutions involves multiple cycles warming to room temperature and return freezer results some decomposition with time, presumably due uptake water from atmosphere. We present a simple spectrophotometric assay which allows an investigator quickly safely estimate extent such accuracy +/- 6%. The based on rapid reaction beta-mercaptoethanol alkaline solution resulting adduct exhibits significant red-shift absorption spectrum.
