Parametric Performance Analysis Of Spaceborne Laser Communication Systems

摘要: Results of a parametric study to assess the effects system tradeoffs and design considerations on operational capabilities optical communication links using laser sources semiconductor detectors are presented. System performance was analyzed an interactive computer program determine parameter values required for given bit error rate. This code is applicable wide variety links, wavelengths, background scenarios. Examples application this analysis several representative space-based systems presented, conclusions reached regarding whether these can achieve goals set by mission objectives.
