摘要: The impact of increasing anthropogenic atmospheric nitrogen deposition on marine biogeochemistry is uncertain. We performed simulations to quantify its effect cycling and productivity in a global 3-D ocean model. Nitrogen fixation provides an efficient feedback by decreasing immediately deposition, whereas water column denitrification increases more gradually the slowly expanding oxygen deficient zones. Counterintuitively, near zones causes net loss due stoichiometry denitrification. In our idealized that only account for cycle perturbations, these combined stabilizing feedbacks largely compensate suppress increase 15%. Our study emphasizes including dynamic response predict future changes productivity.
