摘要: A number of chronic metabolic pathologies, including obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, asthma, and cancer, cluster together to present the greatest threat human health. As research in this field has advanced, it become clear that unresolved inflammation, organelle dysfunction, other cellular stresses underlie development these diseases. However, relationship between systems pathological mechanisms is poorly understood. Here we discuss role Ca(2+) homeostasis as a critical mechanism integrating myriad subcellular dysfunctional networks found tissues such liver adipose tissue context particularly obesity diabetes.
