摘要: Background A detailed assessment of the uterus forms a pivotal part ART treatment process. The emergence three-dimensional ultrasound (3D US) has provided clinicians with highly powerful tool in this respect. Assessments 3D US range from reconstruction anatomical planes elusive to conventional US, objective measurement volumes and vascularization parameters. However, despite ever increasing number publications emerging literature, question which aspects are most clinical value remains topic debate. Objective rationale review is dissect supported by strong level evidence date, should therefore be incorporated into current routine practice. Search methods We conducted systematic search PubMed database up May 2016, using combination text words Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) pertaining uterus. All articles published English language were screened ascertain relevance women reproductive age; further citations retrieved through manual reference list searching. Outcomes multitude predominantly observational studies identified, concerned vast variety uterine assessments. unequivocally praised non-invasive, cost-effective, acceptable nature US. Studies regarding assessing endometrial volume prior embryo transfer appeared conflicting inconsistent. imaging pathology identification intratubal intrauterine devices consistently reported high rates diagnostic accuracy. recent RCT did not show an improvement outcomes when comparing versus 2D during transfer. preliminary suggested that superior determining site implantation, particularly ambiguous cases such as interstitial angular pregnancies. Finally, pilot have integration possibly 4D surgical interventions may promising prospect. Wider implications prove invaluable within context ART. Currently, aim highlight evidence-based valuable for patients, incorporate these
