摘要: The off-site transport of chemicals (pesticides, specifically insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides) used in agricultural production systems can cause toxic effects to aquatic species adverse ecosystems. Compared other regions the world, risks pesticides pose ecosystems has received relatively little attention Australia; hence further research is needed understand these risks. Consequently, this review was conducted identify recent pesticide residue studies how well have assessed water quality risks, giving specific consideration areas Victoria. Despite focus on Victoria, findings recommendations are broadly applicable Australia, particularly temperate south eastern Australia. There been very few Victorian environments, with many undertaken during 1970s 80s. Many more focused groundwater contamination, most commonly detected being atrazine, simazine, chlorpyrifos, DDT, although concentrations generally low below guideline values. surface waters; however vegetable suggested that level contamination likely when farms located close proximity waters. More recently waters veterinary antibiotics raised as a potential issue concern. Whilst considerable sets available for some pesticides, somewhat limited (fungicides particular); Australian species; chronic sub-lethal toxicity. thus address shortfalls.
