Infectious myositis of the iliacus muscle: An important differential in the unwell child with a limp

摘要: Introduction: Infectious myositis is a rare entity with potential for significant complications. It most commonly the result of hematogenous infection and develops in areas compromised by trauma, foreign body, ischemia or surgery. Several cases have been reported equatorial climates, whilst infectious remains temperate climates. iliacus muscle child has only described once previously British Orthopedic literature. We present case child, diagnosed clinically radiologically. Case Report: A 13-year-old boy presented to emergency department 24-hour history feeling generally unwell, fevers difficulty bearing weight on his right leg. On examination, patient was pyrexial, appeared systemically had exquisite tenderness centered over anterior superior iliac spine (ASIS) moderately reduced range movement hip, hip extension affected. Widespread eczematous skin lesions were noted, localized area erythema, crusting ooze dorsal aspect patients foot. Inflammatory markers raised admission. Serial blood cultures
