摘要: Abstract The nucleocapsid of bacteriophage phi 6 is enveloped within a lipid-containing membrane. The membrane composed proteins P3, P6, P9, P10, and P13 phospholipids. relationship between protein P9 morphogenetic P12 was studied in the absence phage infection. cDNA copies genes 9 12 were expressed on plasmids Pseudomonas syringae pv. phaseolicola. Immunoblotting demonstrated presence strains carrying both gene but not with alone. In P12, found to be unstable. Simultaneous synthesis led formation low-density particle having buoyant density similar that precursor structures phospholipid isolated from 6-infected cells. These results are consistent previous genetic experiments suggesting necessary sufficient for envelope. Extensions at C terminus do impair formation; however, N-terminal extensions or C-terminal deletions extend into hydrophobic region formation.
