摘要: Abstract Studies were conducted to examine interrelationships between the heterotrophic and phototrophic populations within an epilithic community in outlet stream of a high alpine lake. Levels nitrates, phosphates, total organic compounds lake consistently near lower limits detectability. Microscopic examination by phase-contrast light microscopy scanning electron revealed diatoms, filamentous algae, bacteria embedded dense gelatinous matrix. Chlorophyll primary productivity measurements had peak values early August, with subsequent declines. Bacterial activity, as measured Vmax, turnover rate, relative increased significantly declined. This trend activity was not accompanied increase bacterial numbers determined epi-illuminated fluorescence microscopy. These results suggest that responded changes in, or interactions among, various chemical physical factors throughout study period. The catabolic sessile appeared be positively influenced mat environment resulting from decline populations.
