摘要: ABSTRACT Objective To examine racial/ethnic patterns of parental beliefs about etiological explanations for youth problems. Method The parents 1,338 youths with identified mental health problems were asked their the causes children's from a questionnaire 11 categories. Results Parents African American, Asian/Pacific Islander and Latino generally less likely than non-Hispanic whites to endorse etiologies consistent biopsychosocial illness. Some differences evident sociological causes, but none existed spiritual or nature disharmony etiologies. Analyses controlling factors including child symptomatology produced fewer significant similar pattern results. Conclusions Racial/ethnic in exist an at-risk sample, implications help-seeking, utilization, effectiveness biopsychosocially oriented services diverse populations are discussed.
