摘要: Background: To inform measurement-based care, practice guidelines suggest routine symptom monitoring, often on a weekly or monthly basis. Increasingly, patient-provider contacts occur remotely (eg, by telephone and Web-based portals), mobile health tools can now monitor depressed mood daily more frequently. However, the reliability utility of ratings are unclear. Objective: This study aimed to examine association between depressive measure Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), most widely adopted depression self-report measure, compare how well these 2 assessment methods predict patient outcomes. Methods: A total 547 individuals completed smartphone-based measures, including Questionnaire-2 (PHQ-2) modified for administration, PHQ-9, Sheehan Disability Scale. Multilevel factor analyses evaluated latent based PHQ-2 (for repeated measures) weeks 4 its correlation with PHQ-9 at week 4. Regression models predicted 8 symptoms disability PHQ-9. Results: The highly reliable (range: 0.80-0.88) correlated (r=.80). Findings were robust across demographic groups (age, gender, ethnic minority status). Daily comparable in predicting independent predictors disability, though unique contribution was small magnitude. Conclusions: completion is reasonable proxy future Mobile offer researchers clinicians valid new that may be leveraged care.
