摘要: The effects of composition, atomic radii, size ratios, and elastic constants the constitutive elements on glass-forming ability metallic glasses have been identified using a thermodynamic model. This model is based comparison Gibbs free energy entropy between nonequilibrium crystalline solid solution undercooled liquid. According to this model, (reduced glass transition temperature, Tg∕Tm) an alloy should increase with (a) in atom and/or shear modulus solvent; (b) bulk solute; (c) decrease melting temperature alloy. At constant values for other parameters, maximum at certain concentration relative solute. Recently, these topological criteria successfully used produce number Ca-based glasses.
