摘要: Ferrites are a large class of oxides containing Fe3+ and at least another metal cation that have been investigated for applied to wide variety fields ranging from mature technologies like circuitry, permanent magnets, magnetic recording microwave devices the most recent developments in areas bioimaging, gas sensing photocatalysis. In last respect, although ferrites less studied than other types semiconductors, they present interesting properties such as visible light absorption, tuneable optoelectronic high chemical photochemical stability. The versatility their composition crystallographic structure opened playground developing new catalysts with enhanced efficiency. This article reviews development application photoassisted processes environmental remediation synthesis solar fuels. Applications photocatalytic degradation pollutants water air, photo-Fenton, fuels production, via photoelectrochemical splitting CO2 reduction, reviewed paying special attention relationships between physico-chemical characteristics ferrite materials photoactivated performance.
