摘要: Cataract is a progressive loss of eye lens transparency which adversely reflected in the vision. Constant exposure to oxidative stress, environmental elements, metabolic disorders, and genetic variations contributes patho-mechanism cataract. However, mutations, truncations, deamidations, glycation play crucial role pathophysiology cataractogenesis resulting alterations epithelial cell metabolism, lenticular proteins structure, function that are elusive. Recent lifestyle modification occupational high intensity light increases incidence cataract an alarming rate has raised serious public health concern among aging population (>40). Awareness on modifiable risk factors would therefore be ideal target for interventions. Pioneering results from various research backgrounds proven prevention by effective education, intake nutraceuticals prioritize primary secondary strategies community.
